Takapuna Pirates player Max O’Dowd stars at the European Cricket League 2019

Congratulations to our Takapuna Premier player and the Dutch international Max O’Dowd and his club team VOC Rotterdam on winning the European Cricket League. Max was a key player for VOC Rotterdam success scoring 54 not out (21 balls) and taking 2-25 in the semi-final.  In the final against the German Champions, Max scored 74 not out (25 balls ) and was adjudged as the player of the tournament.

Takapuna District Cricket Club AGM 2019 update

The TDCC AGM was held on 11thJuly at the Clubhouse and the following members have been elected to the Executive Committee

Takapuna Cricket’s overseas professional Michael Sclanders is now available to do expert coaching from either Onewa Domain nets (outdoor) or Massey University indoor nets in Albany.

One on One:
Indoor nets - $60 per player per hour (MU Albany),

Outdoor- $40 per player per hour (Onewa Domain)

One on two players:

Indoor nets - $35 per player per hour (MU Albany),

Outdoor-  $25 per player per hour (Onewa Domain)

Auckland Girl’s Development Tour to Brisbane                      

As the days slowly get longer and the summer of cricket comes into focus, the excitement builds for yet another season. In late September and early October, thirteen young Auckland cricketers will tour Brisbane and take on Queensland’s U18 Girls team. This team will include three Takapuna players in Sydney Bultitude, Izzy Gaze and Anna Browning.

Our Congratulations to Sydney, Izzy and Anna on their selections and wishing these three players all the best on tour.

The Auckland Girl’s Development team will play two 50-over matches as well as three T20s during the week-long stay.

The squad will be fundraising for the tour and will be hosting a Quiz Night on Saturday 31st August, 7pm, at the Dalmatian Club on New North Road. Tickets can be purchased from any of the squad members.
