SUPER 8s CRICKET TOURNAMENT 2017

The Takapuna District Cricket Club’s Primary Schools Cricket Tournament (open to all North Shore City Primary Schools)

Tuesday 28th February and Wednesday 1st March 2017

The Takapuna District Cricket Club invites your School to participate in its annual Super 8s Primary Schools Cricket Tournament to be held from 8.45am to 3.15pm each day on the 28th February and 1st March 2017 at Onewa Domain, Northcote Road, “The Home of Cricket on the North Shore City”.

The Super 8s tournament is an 8-a-side modified version of cricket particularly designed for Primary School cricket players and those interested in having a go at the game, the objective being to provide a fun day of full participation for all young players of every shade of ability and interest.

The Super 8s Format for 2017

The Champions League (for boys), Tuesday 28th February on Onewa Domain # 1

·         Open to boys teams of strong cricket ability to play in separate boys league

·         Will play under the ACA Super 8s (Cricket Blitz) rules and playing conditions

 

The Debbie Hockley League (for girls), Tuesday 28th February on Onewa Domain # 2

·         Open to girls teams of strong cricket ability to play in separate girls league

·         Will play under the ACA Super 8s (Cricket Blitz) rules and playing conditions

 

The Brendon McCallum League (boys), Wednesday 1st March on Onewa Domain # 1

·         Open to Year 5 & 6 boys new to the game of cricket and keen to play

·         will play under the ACA Super 8s rules and playing conditions

 

The Richard Hadlee League (mixed), Wednesday 1st March on Onewa Domain # 2

·         for Year 3 & 4 boys and girls of all abilities who are  keen to play

·         will play under the ACA Super 8s rules and playing conditions

The Daily Itinerary

  • 8.45      Teams arrive at the TDCC Pavilion on Onewa for game instructions for the day
  • 9.00      All games begin on the main Oval at Onewa Domain
  • 12.00    Lunch in the Clubrooms and on the deck of the Pavilion
  • 12.45    Games begin again after lunch
  • 3.00      Each League finishes with its Final & presentations

No entry fee is required to play in the Super 8s Tournament in order to help defray your School’s sports expenses.
